ATL day one

Hotlanta is Lrrg.

Atlanta is hot. That's my first thought and it's a strong one. It's also bulky. It's as if a meglo-technological city was jammed into a few blocks and fell in the middle of Georgia. I've never seen so many massive buildings in such a confined space. It's odd. It's not really futuristic, it's more like 1985 futuristic. Like a city Arnold Schwarzenegger might've fought his way out of in a blockbuster film.

The people are friendly- not just friendly...southern friendly. It's something I've come to really enjoy as a New Yorker (unless your on line somewhere because they're also slow.) A question comes to mind- where are the people anyway? I'm downtown and they are??? in Savannah? I don't know but it's not very crowded (at least for a city).

Turner is a word you see in Atlanta like Mickey in Orlando. The Turner building, Turner television, and of course Turner Field, home of the Braves. The Braves are the devil for a Mets fan but Ted's a good guy and I love baseball so I headed out with my new buddy Moses from Queens, a fellow Adobe guy. It was bat night, another thing you'd never see in New York unless it was beatdown Thursday. The game was fun. I was beat after a long day at the NECC but it was a good time. It's always interesting to me to see how accessible baseball is outside of New York, it's a piece of Americana in itself. In New York people will kill for their team, anywhere else they seem to just enjoy it.
