UPstate NY The Baseball Hall of Fame

As the museum leads on towards modern baseball I, managed to learn a few new things about the history of the World Series and see some modern milestones in place in the museum. I found the World Series rings a little over the top for the last decade or two- massive bling is a bit much. The 300 win club and home run club ended the museum and both are impressive. By the time I left I was bleary with bats and balls. As a Mets fan we don't have much in there but thank god for Seaver and Carter.

The Hall of Fame itself appeared more of a religious experience that a historical one. Fathers were quietly running their hands over plaques as they recited legends to their children. It was something to behold: light illuminating the walls of copper and bronze with the three dimensional faces trapped like Han Solo in time. It was well worth the near-death experience of traveling here at night. I'd love to come back one day when I am accepted to the Hall of Fame, maybe after I pitch a shutout World Series game.
