Niagara a wonder of the world...

A bottle of wine and Shakespeare hill.

One thing Niagara and Buffalo has in abundance is an interesting and eclectic history. There is some terrific art, architecture, and museums here. Viewing the Albright-Knox art gallery in Buffalo was like viewing the collection I wish I could someday put together. It was an ultimate collection of modern art from Max Beckmann and Romare Bearden to Sue Williams and Matthew Barney (and it's free on Fridays).

Behind the museum they have a free outdoor Shakespeare festival which is one of the largest in the nation. I attended a performance of Othello and I really enjoyed the down to earth event. I've never seen Shakespeare from a beach blanket before but it was fun.

The city of Buffalo is like an architecture museum itself with a plethora of important architectural works everywhere. One of my favorites is the Darwin Martin home Frank Lloyd Wright built right outside Delaware Park. It's not far from the art gallery and there's also a quirky college area called Elwood village with great shopping and food around the corner.
