Tokyo, Japan

A twist on modern

The architecture of the city was much more modern than the other cities I had seen in the country which might be due to the heavy firebombing Tokyo saw during World War II but the feel of the city was unique. Tokyo was loaded with color and has a palate of its own which seemed to consist of a wider array of colors and even the graffiti that could be seen around the city felt like it stayed in line with the citywide aesthetic.

As an artist I really responded to the abundance of color and design and it seemed especially vibrant in contrast to the more traditional subdued tones of the other cities that I had visited.
